+- Sat, 06/01/2013 9th Annual Texas 4000 for Cancer ATLAS Ride Cedar Park,Texas
The Texas 4000 for Cancer ATLAS Ride, now in its ninth year, features 25-, 50-, and 70-mile routes that wind through the scenic countryside and end at the beautiful Pillar Bluff Vineyards located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, where there will be a large pavilion and stage for local entertainment, good ol’ Texas barbecue, and much more. Riders and attendees are also welcome to take a tour of the award-winning Texas Legato Winery! Full SAG, rest stops, and mechanical support will be provided throughout the day. Each year, Texas 4000 for Cancer, a University of Texas at Austin student-led non-profit organization, sends a cycling team more than 4,500 miles on the world’s longest charitable ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to spread the organization’s three pillars of Hope, Knowledge, and Charity across the North American continent. The ride is the accumulation of a year and half of hard work and dedication to the cause by the riders, since the team takes responsibility for planning the entire trip, from plotting turn-by-turn directions of the routes and building relationships with host families to seeking out communities and hospitals to present cancer awareness programs and share personal cancer experiences with others affected by the disease. Come cycle the first day of the seventy-day journey with the LIVESTRONG Texas 4000 Team and join us in the fight against cancer! Early registration ends on March 3rd! Until March 3rd: $50 March 3rd – May 29th: $60 May 30th – June 1st: $70 Transportation back to Cedar Park is provided for a $20 fee (or cyclists can arrange their own ride back). Isn’t that worth it? If biking, walking, running is not suitable for you, we can always use volunteers to either help get this event off the ground or simply sign up for our blood drive by contacting me sandymcnaulatgmail [dot] com. We will have musical performances, like an Up-and-Coming local artist, Mr. Andy Der Tatevasion. And have just invited Puerto Rican cuisine Gusto Criollo to this event. They're food is excellent and they will have healthy choices, as well as, our other food vendor MaMa's Cafe, from Austin. Not only will this be a great event for the whole family & friends, but bring your appetite too! So, no more excuses. +- Wed, 10/09/2013 - Wed, 10/16/2013 Peloponnesse - GREECE Nafplio,
I am riding the Northern Peloponnese in Greece this October with sag support from Cycle Greece.  The cost is lower if there are more people.  The ride itself is challenging, 50+ miles per day throughout the historic sites of the Arcadian mountain range.  Accomodations in local hamlets and villages.  If interested in riding the Heroic Lands of the Greek Peloponnesse give me a call; everyone rides at their own pace (there are varying distances) and does whatever they want after the ride . . . . this is not a "tour" in that way - - the great aspect is the sag support so that clothes and equipment are transported and we concentrate on ride. Michael   (512) 364.0158     Here is link to Cycle Greece Sacred Sites Tour   P.S.  The costs which are divided and become lower the more people there are include: pick up at Atens airport (including bicycle and luggage) and sag support (portaging of personal belongings to each day's destination)
