ACA Hosted Rides
ACA hosted rides are “no drop” group rides lead by a trained ACA hosted ride leader. Ride distance, pace and route are established by the ride leader.
Rides are rated with a number and a letter. The number refers to how hilly a ride is with 1 meaning a ride is relatively flat and 4 meaning the ride is hilly. See the "Hosted Ride Rating Key" (to the right) for an explanation of the letter ratings.
Posted start times indicate when riders start riding. Please be ready to roll 5 to 10 minutes before the posted start time to allow time for announcements and a safety briefing.
Contact the Ride Director at rides [dot] chair

Here's a quick workout that will get your heart rate up - great for anyone who's pinched for time.
We ride the neighborhoods in Great Hills and Spicewood . Length of the ride is about 20 miles, and total ascent is about 2000 feet. The pace is slow (12-13 mph), but don't let that fool you. There are some challenging hills on this route, so put on your climbing gears.
Ride rolls from my home at 7:30 sharp. Be sure to check this post on ride morning to confirm status.
Approx. 34 miles. Fairly easy urban route that circum-navigates the City. Starts in Rosedale, then over to the east side, across the Lake and up to St. Edwards. Back north through Tarrytown/Balcones neighbourhoods. Actual intensity depends on who shows. Inevitably some Walnuts (small hills) in Travis Heights & on the return but will definitely regroup at top of each. Start is Gt. Oaks Pkway, one block north & west of the Shoal Creek @ 45th intersection. Coffee/lunch afterwards at Pacha's/Monkey Nest/Houndstooth.
Join our regular group of Easy Riders in the rolling country around Bertram, through Oatmeal, Burnet and Mohamet. Suitable for beginners, older riders and those who like to smell the flowers and enjoy each other's company. We do not ride in bad weather. Afterwards, we eat together nearby. Take 183 north to 29, then west to Bertram. Turn left at the Exxon station and park along the iron fence of the little city park at Vaughn and Lampasas.

If you would like to stay for BBQ & Band:
· Advance reservations are recommended so that the kitchen staff knows how much meat to prepare that day. PLEASE RSVP LETICIA [dot] OLIVAREZ

These rides are co-hosted by Mellow Johnny’s and the Austin Cycling Association. This no-drop, co-ed group ride is perfect for the cyclist new to riding or bike commuting, returning to the bike or just looking for a more casual ride. The routes are designed to help riders navigate the city bike routes and other safe bike commuting options.
Thank you for making this a popular Saturday morning ride. In response, we are now hosting two groups for this ride. The first group is designed for those who can average 14-16mph for 20-30 miles with one or two regrouping points. This group follows the same route but is provided with an extended mileage option.
The second group is our traditional Scout-a-route. We average 12mph for distances between 15-25 miles with regrouping points.
Both rides are intended to explore, so leave your heart rate monitor at home, bring some spare dollars for the occasional refreshment stop and enjoy the view.
General group ride expectation: helmet, bike in good working condition, water and nutrition, flat changing tools, and no headphones/radios. We encourage you to ride to the shop. If you do drive, please park in the street.
For a pre-ride coffee, meet a half hour before ride time at Juan Pelota’s Café. If driving to the shop, please park in the street

We'll roll from Lake Pflugerville and ride through Cele, then north and east to Coupland. There we'll turn south to cruise through Manda to Manor, then back over to Lake P.
Total distance is about 47 miles of flats and gentle rollers. If you're looking for monster hills, this is not your ride.
We roll at 7:30 sharp. Be sure to check this post on ride morning to confirm status. Meet in the parking lot at the south end of Lake Pflugerville.

This is a shorter, slower version of David's regular Tuesday Pflugerville ride. We will start with the "B" group and cruise for a few minutes with them and then back-off and do 35-40 miles or so at a more relaxed pace. Then possibly join the regulars for coffee afterwards.
Come join ABCx--Austin Bike Chix as they host rides on Tuesday evenings to get you prepared for biking on the road so you can ride with more confidence and join some of the longer rides that Austin hosts!
