Note the following list of all the rides we've organized in the past and probably will do again soon - perhaps even sooner if you volunteer to start one for us. Check 'em out!

ACA Regular Rides
Barely Hare—(replaces Granger Lake/Taylor routes)---(Northeast) Map Available!
Very possibly ACA's flattest ride. Four distances, from 24 to 77 miles. The longest route circles Granger Lake with some excellent views from the top of the dam. Meet in Taylor at the bank parking lot at Third and Porter (one block NE of the light at Hwy 79 and Main). Plenty of BBQ in Taylor after the ride.
Blackland Prairie Tours—(Northeast)
Meet in Taylor at the bank parking lot at Third and Porter (one block NE of the light at Hwy 79 and Main). These 24-,36- and 46-mile loops travel east along the south side of Granger Lake. The 24- and 36-mile loops visit Thrall. The 46-mile ride goes through Thorndale.
Black’s Fort—(Northwest) Map Available!
!!NOTE: NEW START LOCATION!! Meet in Bertram (10 miles NW of Liberty Hill on Hwy 29) at Bertram Elementary School on FM 1174/2243 1/2 mile north of SH 29 on the right for rides of 23 and 51 miles. Spin past the historic fort (built by Black) that provided settlers with shelter from Apache attacks. Ride the gentle hills of the Edwards Plateau and what is, in essence, the beginning of the Great Plains.
Blanco Blast—(Southwest)
Road bike rides of 54 and 37 miles, plus a beautiful 45-mile ride suitable for mountain bikes. Take US Hwy. 290 west to US 281; go south (left) on 281 to Blanco. Turn right in the center of town on FM 1623 and park in the high school lot, a short distance on the left side. Apres-ride dining options include the famous Blanco Bowling Club Cafe, the Real Foods Cafe and the Sunset Restaurant.
Blue Fedor-ahh!!--(Arrange with Jon Hall beforehand) (East) Map Available!
Five distances to choose from: 20-100 miles. Rolling terrain suitable for beginners, quiet country lanes. Take US 290 east, four miles past Elgin. Turn left on FM 696, go about 12.5 miles to the Blue community fire station at the intersection of FM 696 and CR 309 (on your right and 0.5 miles past Jackson’s store). Don’t park in front of the fire station doors! Rides go through Lexington and as far as Lake Somerville.
Brushy Creek—(North)
Take IH-35 north to Exit #253 in Round Rock, cross under IH-35 on Sam Bass Rd., turn right into the parking lot immediately past Taco Bell on the NW corner for rides of 31 and 50 miles along scenic and historic Brushy Creek.
Buda East—(South)
Meet in the parking lot on the south side of Loop 4 (Main St) across from the post office in downtown Buda, 15 miles south of Austin. The 27-, 40- and 58-mile rides cover flat to rolling terrain on rural roads east of IH-35. The longest route goes all the way to Lockhart.
Buda West (Leaderless)—(South) Map Available!
Meet in the parking lot on the east side of Loop 4 (Main St) across from the post office in downtown Buda. See ride options on cue sheet below (New 49.3-mile route replaces previous 54.9-mile). When you smell the Bar-B-Que, you’re near Camp Ben McCullough and the Salt Lick (biggest open-pit “cooker” in the country).
Bulldog Sandwich Ride—(East) Map Available!
Meet on the side road off FM 153 opposite the entrance to Buescher State Park (don’t block park entrance) just north of Hwy 71 near Smithville for a 35- and 50-mile rides through rolling hills. (There’s no more Bulldog sandwich in Winchester, but there’s burgers at Rocky Hill Ranch just up from the park).
Camp Ben Options—(Best on Sundays!) (Southwest) Map Available!
Meet in the parking area at Camp Ben McCulloch on FM 1826 near Driftwood (across the road from the Salt Lick BBQ). Take Hwy 290 west past the “Y” in Oak Hill and turn left at FM 1826. Ride options of 25, 31, and 50 70 miles offer challenges for all experience levels through hilly and very beautiful terrain. Cedar Park Fever—(Best on Sundays!) (Northwest) Map Available!
!!NOTE: NEW START LOCATION!! Meet at CC Mason Elementary in Cedar Park. From Hwy 183 north, turn left on FM 1431. Take FM 1431 to the second light (Lakeline Blvd) and turn right. The school is _ a mile north of the FM 1431/Lakeline intersection, on the left. These are easy to intermediate rides of 15, 32, 56 and 76 miles in the Hill Country. There are some moderate hills on the longer routes.
Cotton Capers—(East) Map Available!
Meet in the parking lot at the NE corner of Wall St and Cross Park Dr in NE Austin. Take Cameron Rd north off Hwy 183, and turn right on Cross Park Dr. The second left is Wall St. The 29-, 38- and 52-mile routes cover rolling farmland. These rides leave from very close in and put you and your bike in rural countryside before you know it. Sometimes we even see cotton.
Creedmore Cruise—(Southeast) Map Available!
Rides of about 24, 46 and 69 miles in rolling to flat countryside southeast of Austin. The longest ride goes all the way to Lockhart. Check out the African animals at the TDC landfill on the way back. Meet at Williams Elementary School at Mairo and Blue Valley Dr. (One block east of South First Street and six blocks south of William Cannon).
Dripping Springs Favorites—(West) Map Available!
A new revision of an old route. Meet at Dripping Springs ISD Administration building, on the north side of Hwy 290, about 3/10 of a mile west of the traffic light at Hwy 12. (The admin building is on Loop 64). The 17-, 30-, 45- and 58-mile rides follow Onion Creek and then climb across the Great Divide into the Blanco River Basin, offering one of the most spectacular cycling views anywhere. Plenty of hills, open vistas and fire-ant mounds.
Dripping Springs to Johnson City—(West) Map Available!
Meet at Dripping Springs ISD Administration building, on the north side of Hwy 290, about 3/10 of a mile west of the traffic light at Hwy 12. (The admin building is on Loop 64). The intermediate level rides of 24 and 52 miles follow back roads through the undulating Hill Country landscape to Johnson City.
Fitzhugh Flog –(Southwest) Map Available!
Meet at the HEB parking lot in the village of Bee Caves at the corner of Hwy 71 and FM 2244 (Bee Caves road). Route options of 31 to 51miles. Discover a hidden corner of the Texas Hill Country southwest of Austin on this challenging ride featuring scenic vistas, 2400 feet of climbing on the short loop, and a fast finish. The final 10 miles are generally downhill featuring medium to high-intensity traffic. This ride's map includes a "Stress Key" for the traffic-wary cyclist...
Hutto – Coupland—(Northeast)
Meet at the new elementary school (the one with the red roof) on the NE side of Hutto. From Hwy 79 in Hutto go north 0.6 miles on FM 1660 and turn right onto Mager Lane. Drive 0.3 miles and turn into the elementary school parking lot. These intermediate level rides of 27, 41, and 55 miles are through mostly flat, but always windy, terrain.
Jake’s Hill—(East) Map Available!
Meet at the Movies 8 in Round Rock for rides of 18, 27, 41 and 55 miles. Take IH-35 north to the Hwy 3406 exit, and hustle across the access road for the immediate right turn into the parking lot. These routes will traverse the slightly undulating rural countryside east of IH-35 and provide a platform for the separation of the peloton at Jake’s Hill. Who said there aren’t any climbs out east?
Joppa Jaunt—(Northwest) Map Available!
Meet at Liberty Hill Elementary School on Loop 332, just west of downtown Liberty Hill. These 25- and 50-mile intermediate level rides follow quiet back roads over the picturesque Jollyville Plateau with a few moderate hills. Pedal through places like Joppa, Oatmeal, Mahomet and Bertram.
Lake Victor Vector—(Northwest) Map Available!
!!NOTE: NEW START LOCATION!! Meet in Bertram at Bertram Elementary School on FM 1174/2243 1/2 mile north of SH 29 on the right for rides of 26 to 55 miles. Ride the gentle hills of the Edwards Plateau all the way to Lake Victor (where's the lake?). Plenty of cattleguards, hills and very little traffic, combined with LOTS of WOW scenery make this a memorable ride.
Leanderthal—(Northwest)
Cruise through the stone-age landscapes of far west Travis County. Routes of 24 to 60 miles go through and around some of the scenic Golden Cheeked Warbler and Black Capped Vireo habitats. Meet at the Leander School warehouse parking lot in Leander. Take Hwy 183 north past Cedar Park. The cross-street at the stop light in Leander is Hwy 2243 to the right and South St to the left. Turn left onto South St for two blocks. The parking lot will be on your left.
Liberty Hill Loops—(East) Map Available!
Meet at the Liberty Hill Elementary School on Loop 332, just west of downtown Liberty Hill. These 25- and 50-mile intermediate level rides follow quiet back roads over the picturesque Jollyville Plateau with a few moderate hills. Pedal through places like Joppa, Andice, Oatmeal and Mahomet, but don’t blink or you'll miss them. ertram is the water stop on this ride.
Lockhart BBQ Run (Southeast)
Formerly known as the Lockhart Kolache Ride. New name, same old route. Meet at the courthouse square in Lockhart, one block west of Hwy 183. The 29-mile, 54-mile, or combination loops pass through scenic post oak covered rolling hills and can be enjoyed by riders of all abilities. Post-ride BBQ lunch in either Lockhart or Luling is always in order.
The Lone Granger Ride—(Northeast) Map Available!
Rides of 12, 26, and 52 miles begin in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown and go as far east as Granger. From I-35 take exit 261A (Williams St./RR 2338) and drive east (right) to Austin Ave., turn left and then right onto Stadium Dr. Park at the west end of the football stadium.
Long Lake Loops—(a.k.a., Decker Lake) (East) Map Available!
Meet at the entrance to Lake Walter E. Long Park (Decker Lake to some geezers). Go east off Ed Blustein Blvd. On Loyola Lane across Decker Lane where Loyola changes names to Decker Lake Rd. Take the small road left at the “Y” and park along the outside fence. Or, you can follow “Lake Long signs” off of Webberville Road and still park outside the fence. The 28- and 50-mile routes through rolling fields and farmland (with a couple of hills) are suitable for strong novices and intermediate level riders.
Lost Pines—(East) Map Available!
Meet at the courthouse square in Bastrop for rides of 29, 37 and 52 miles. These scenic and challenging rides course through the loblolly pine carpeted red clay hills of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. A new out-and-back option goes to Kovar and back. Be ready to climb!
Manor Ups & Downs—(Northeast)
Meet in downtown Manor between the Post Office and the police station for flat-to-rolling rides. Select from 9-, 20-, 28- or 50-mile loops that go east and south of Manor.
Milmor’s Man—(Northwest) Map Available!
Meet at the Liberty Hill Elementary School on Loop 332, just west of downtown Liberty Hill. The 30-, 64- and 70-mile rides are fun and challenging. The longer ride drops through the stunning Cow Creek Valley, on to Marble Falls, and finally climbs back through the Oatmeal region.
Mt. Gainor Goners—(Southwest) Map Available!
Meet at the Mt. Gainor Inn on Prochnow Road. From Austin, take US 290 westbound to Dripping Springs. Take a left on Creek Road and veer left at the intersection of Mt. Gainor Road and Creek Road. Stay on Mt Gainor Road to Prochnow Road. Turn right on Prochnow Road and the inn will be 2.6 miles on the right. Ride county roads to Wimberley while enjoying views of the Onion Creek and Blanco River valleys. Ride lengths of 12 and 40 miles, with a multitude of other options available.
New Sweden Shuffle (East) Map Available!
Come shuffle along with us. We'll have shuffles of 20, 44 and 59 miles through the New Sweden flatlands north east of Austin. Meet at the Dessau Middle School on Dessau Rd., between Parmer Ln. and Howard Ln.
Old San Antonio Road—(South) Map Available!
Meet at Williams Elementary School at Mario and Blue Valley Dr (one block east of South First Street and six blocks south of William Cannon) for a select-your-own-distance ride of up to 55 miles. The relatively flat out-and-back route goes through Buda, Kyle, and the thickly wooded Blanco River Valley to northern San Marcos.
Pfinally Pflugerville—(Sundays only!) (Northeast) Map Available!
Exit on Hwy 1825 from IH-35 and curve east to the traffic light in old downtown Pflugerville. Turn left on Railroad Ave. Proceed north approximately 1/4 mile to Gilleland Creek Park on the left. We'll meet at the pool. The rides will be 13 to 47 miles through flat to slightly rolling farmland.
Red Rock and Roll—(Southeast) Map Available!
Loops of 29 and 53 miles in the post oak covered rolling hills northeast of Lockhart. The start location is Plum Creek elementary school in Lockhart. Take US 183 south to Lockhart and turn left at the traffic signal onto Flores St. (FR 672). Proceed east and turn right onto Carver St. Take the first left into the parking lot. The short ride has no water stop so bring plenty with you.
Road Dog Metric Century— (arrange with Jon Hall) (Northeast)
Cruise NE Travis and Williamson Counties on these new routes. In addition to the metric century (100 kilometers = 62.2 miles), there will be shorter routes for the less ambitious (and saner?). Go East on Hwy 1825 from IH-35 to the traffic light in old downtown Pflugerville. Turn left on Railroad Ave. Proceed north approximately 1/4 mile to Gilleland Creek Park on the left. San Saba Loops—(Northwest) Map Available!
Meet in Burnet at Burnet High School on Main Street (two blocks north of the RR 963/US 281 intersection and one block east of US 281) for a joint ride with Highland Lakes Bicycle Club with rides of 24 to 54 miles. Ride through rolling cedar and oak covered hills with wide open ranch land views all the way to Lampasas. Watch for the dry washes, which are fun to ride down, but can be rough due to occasional floods that wash away the pavement.
South Austin African Safari—(formerly “Best of South Austin”) (South) Map Available!
Experience the exotic fauna of south Austin on this major revision of the ancient “Best of South Austin” ride. Ride lengths of 17, 24, 38 and 58 miles span the globe from Driftwood to east of I-35 and cover flat to moderately hilly terrain. Meet at Williams Elementary at Mairo and Blue Valley Dr. (One block east of South First Street and six blocks south of William Cannon).
Sprinkle Sprint—(was Wall Street Ride) (East) Map Available!
Meet in the parking lot at the NE corner of Wall St and Cross Park Dr in NE Austin. Take Cameron Rd north off Hwy 183, and turn right on Cross Park Dr. The first left is Wall St. The 29- and 43-mile routes cover rolling farmland. These rides leave from very close in and put you and your bike in rural countryside before you know it.
Stonewall Slog—(West) Map Available!
Meet at the Stonewall Elementary School on Peach St (from US 290 westbound, take a right on St. Francis St. (next to the Stonewall Fire Department) and go one block to Peach St. Turn left on Peach and go to the end of the block. The school is on the left). Ride lengths range from 20 to 60 miles, with the longest route riding along the famous Willow City Loop (where you might even see a Bluebonnet or two). Bring plenty of water/food as stops are limited to Harry's on the Loop in Willow City.
Thigh and Low—(replaces Best of West Austin) (In Town) Map Available!
Meet at the Echelon building parking lot on Jollyville Road between MoPac and Loop 360 (the east end of the lot doesn't have "Tenant Only" signs). Four routes to choose from, up to 35 miles. The longer routes take on the hills of Loop 360 and all routes course through West Austin neighborhoods. Traffic can be moderate to heavy; Westlake Drive is recommended only for experienced riders.
To Hill and Back—(Southwest) Map Available!
Meet at the Blanco High School for rides with fantastic views of the Guadalupe and Blanco River valleys and a few hills thrown in. Ride lengths of 11, 32, 48 and 65. Take US Hwy. 290 west to US 281; go south (left) on 281 to Blanco. Turn right in the center of town on FM 1623 and park in the high school lot, a short distance on the left side.
Tour de Coupland—(Northeast)
Meet at the Park & Ride lot, approx. 1/2 mile north of the Hwy 95/Hwy 290 intersection (in front of high school baseball field) in Elgin. These rides of 24 or 53 miles through flat to slightly rolling terrain are suitable for novice riders. The long route goes through historic Coupland. Pig-out (cycling term) on hot-gut sausage afterwards.
Tour de Lance—(Northeast) Map Available!
If you can’t make it to Europe for the Tour de France, then join us in Elgin for the Tour de Lance. Meet at the Elgin ISD administration building on 2nd street. Take 290 East to Elgin. Turn left on 11th Street (by the HEB) and follow 11th to 2nd. Turn right on 2nd; the administration building is a block down on the right. The ride will cover parts of the longer routes of the Ride for the Roses, with a couple of changes thrown in. Rides from 32 to 75 miles are available.
Tour de Longhorn Caverns—(Northwest) Map Available!
!!NOTE: NEW START LOCATION!! Meet in Bertram at Bertram Elementary School on FM 1174/2243 1/2 mile north of SH 29 on the right. Go north on Hwy 183 to Hwy 29. Go left on Hwy 29 to Bertram. Intermediate level rides of 29, 45 and 52 miles. The 29-mile route loops clockwise from Bertram to Burnet. The 45-mile route goes to Longhorn Caverns State Park and back. The 52-mile route completes a larger loop on beyond the Caverns and passes through Burnet twice.
Walberg Waltz—(Northeast) Map Available!
Meet at the north end of Walberg Cemetery (away from the entrance). Take IH-35 north to Exit 268 (CR 972). Go right on 972 and left on CR 1105 to the cemetery on the left. These 16- to 50-mile rides are quite rewarding (and often windy). Afterwards, go into Walberg for weinerschnitzel.
Weir Lost—(Northeast) Map Available!
Official loops of 30 and 53 miles that pass through the big cities of Jonah, Walburg and, if you don’t get lost, Weir. Plenty of options for shorter rides. Meet at the parking lot at the girl’s softball field in Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. From I-35 take Exit 254 east; follow Route 3406 3.4 mi., cross CR 1460 (3406 becomes 113/Kyphen Rd.) go another 2.3 miles, turn right onto Aten Loop. Take the first right into the parking lot.
ACA Special Rides/Events
ARR/ACA Beginners’ Clinic--
Meet at McKinney Falls State Park for mini-clinics on bike fit, helmet fit, and basic bicycle maintenance followed by your choice of an on-road or off-road riding clinic. This one should be some real fun for novices, intermediates and those who haven’t been to the park lately. Entrance fee is $2.00/car.
Canyon Lake Chainring Crunch (aka, Hill, Yes!)— (Far south)
A revival of a Rocco DeBona-pioneered route. Go south on IH-35 to northernmost New Braunfels, take Hwy 306 (Exit 191) to the west to Hwy 2673, go southwest on Hwy 2673 to Sattler, and meet at the Mountain Valley School, behind the Wells Fargo Bank, one mile west of the intersection of Hwy 306 and Hwy 2673. The hilly rides of 25 and 43 miles require low gears. The long ride takes you around Canyon Lake and demands an extra water bottle because there are no stores.
Commuter Clinic--
Sunday morning around town ride. Commuter practice with a stop for coffee somewhere. Meet at Wheatsville Food Co-op, 3101 Guadalupe for rides of 10 to 40 miles around town. Even better, ride your bike to the start of the ride and leave your car at home.
Guadalupe Gallop—(formerly Guadalupe River Road, recommended for wintertime only) Map Available!
This revision of an old favorite parallels the Guadalupe River from New Braunfels to Canyon Lake. Routes of 34 and 46 miles start at the parking lot at the south end of the tennis courts in Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels. Take I-35 south to exit 187 onto Seguin Ave., then east (or right) to East San Antonio St. on the main plaza. Proceed north to Liberty Ave, then west to Liebscher Dr. and the park entrance.
Mellow Velo--
(Low-Stress Ride with Clinic) Meet at the Veloway! Take MoPac (Loop 1) south to Slaughter Lane, continue across Slaughter and take a left at the first crossover. That is the entrance. Meet in the parking lot for the 9:00 am clinic. *Ride starts at 10:00. A Veloway training ride means 3.1 miles is the shortest ride (if you don’t cut across). Novices can practice alongside racers (there is a fast lane and a slow lane). Take as many laps as you want for the same price (free). Maps will be available for excursions onto a new, lightly traveled roadway south of Slaughter Lane.
Women’s Ride--
This one is supposed to be a “Women in charge” ride. It requires a female ride starter (to also choose or invent a ride route) and the women get the maps and set the pace. Men may not pass the women and without maps, we know they will never stop and ask directions.
Inactive Routes
Bertram/Colorado River Valley—(inactive)
Meet in Bertram (10 miles NW of Liberty Hill on Hwy 29) near the post office (but don’t park in their lot!) for rides of 25 and 50 miles. The 50-miler takes you to the edge of the mighty Colorado River Valley and offers a spectacular view on one of the fastest descents to be had anywhere.
Best of South Austin—(inactive; replaced by South Austin African Safari)
Meet in front of Mr. Gatti’s in the parking lot at S IH-35 & William Cannon. Routes cover flat/rolling terrain in south Travis and Hays Counties and are 36 and 58 miles, with a 13- mile beginner route. Lunch afterward at Mr. Gatti’s or the Thai Kitchen.
Best of West Austin—(replaced by Thigh & Low) (Central)
Meet at the Echelon building parking lot on Jollyville Road between MoPac and Loop 360 (the east end of the lot doesn’t have “Tenant Only” signs). Three routes to choose from. The longest is still hilly, but with a few new twists.
Bill Reams Memorial Ride—(New Year’s Day ride) Inactive
Join Steve (where’s Bill?) for routes of 25 and 50 miles custom designed to take you through some of the hills on the west side of town. The ride starts at Bull Creek Park. Exit on Lakewood Dr on the east side of Loop 360, one mile north of RR 2222 overpass. Bill (where’s Steve?) says, "If you do a lot of hill climbing on the 1st, then the rest of the year is all downhill.”
Briggs River Ramble—(Northwest)Inactive
Meet in Briggs, across from the community center in the heart of town (what town there is left). Briggs is off Hwy 183, about 17 miles north of the Hwy 29 intersection. This ride starts a bit farther away than most, but the routes of 25, 50 and 75 miles traversing the Edwards Plateau and passing through the Lampasas River Valley are truly majestic.
Buda Triangles (West)—(South) Inactive
Meet in the gravel parking lot on the south side of Loop 4 (Main St) across from the post office in downtown Buda. Ride options are approximately 10, 33 and 55 miles spinning through the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country, venturing as far as Camp Ben (Salt Lick BBQ) and the edge of Wimberley.
Devil’s Backbone—(See also Sattler, Canyon Lake) (Southwest) Inactive
Meet at Wimberley Intermediate School on RR 12, on the north side of Wimberley, for hilly 27- and 43-mile rides. These routes are the most scenic in central Texas. The views from Devil’s Backbone are fantastic and well worth climbing the hills to see. Low gears are definitely in order. Both routes include some rough country roads, so leave your time trial wheels at home.
Fredericksburg—(no map found) Inactive
Meet at the courthouse in Fredericksburg (US 290 and Hwy 16 S) for scenic rides of 30, 42 and 64 miles. Low gears and plenty of pasta are advised. The area is very rural with few stores, so please carry food and extra water.
Georgetown Wander—(revised 10/01) (Northeast) (Deleted 12/2002; replaced by Lone Granger)
Take exit 261A on IH35 north in Georgetown and follow signs to San Gabriel Park. Park near the footbridge on the river. These rides of 12, 24, and 52 miles take many twists and turns through rolling countryside northeast of Georgetown. The 24 mile ride passes through Walburg, Theon, and New Corn Hill. The 52 mile ride goes as far east as Granger and grazes Bell County on the north.
Guadalupe River Road—(obsolete; replaced by Guadalupe Gallop)
Meet at Landa Park in New Braunfels (about 1 hour from Austin south on IH-35). Take Exit 187 and go west 2 miles on Texas 46 (business) toward Boerne. Turn right at the Landa Park sign. Meet near the swimming pool. The intermediate level rides of 30 and 42 miles wind along the very scenic Guadalupe River, then cross into the Hill Country for some climbing.
Heartbreak Hill—(recommended for wintertime)
Meet in the Cypress Creek County Park parking lot off Hwy 2769 near the lake. (Do not meet at Hwy 620 and Anderson Mill.) Start thinking like a mountain goat. These intermediate/advanced rides of 25, 34 or 50 miles climb up through the rugged and scenic north side of Lake Travis on infamous Lime Creek Rd. Low gears are definitely in order. (A short, hilly, and very pretty ride can be made by riding to the base, saying, “That’s some hill!” and returning.)
Lockhart (Red Rock) Loops—(Southeast) (replaced by Red Rock ‘n’ Roll)
Meet at the courthouse square in Lockhart, one block west of Hwy 183. The rides of 30 and 54 miles pass through scenic post oak covered rolling hills and can be enjoyed by riders of all abilities. BBQ lunch at one of the local spots is always in order.
Martindale Miles—(no map on file; contact Bill Glaze)
Go south on IH-35 and exit on Hwy 80 in San Marcos. Go east on Hwy 80 to Martindale, right at the blinking light in Martindale, “dead-end” into the cemetery and then go right and to the cotton gin. Rides of 25 and 50 miles are offered over rolling rural roads. Bring a suit and swim the San Marcos River afterward.
Old Settler’s Park—(inactive?)
Meet at the Old Settlers’ Park (starting point of Outlaw Trail 100) east of Round Rock on Hwy 79. Go through the park to the ball fields on the north end. Ride lengths are 13, 30 and 47 miles. Join us for a special treat on this ride!

Meet at the Old Settler’s Park east of Round Rock on Hwy 79. Intermediate rides of 30 and 47 miles will start at ball fields (north end of the park). Also a 13-mile escorted beginners ride!
Round Rock/Weir/Jonah-- Inactive
Meet at the shopping center at the NW corner of I-35 and Hwy 79 in Round Rock. These beginner and intermediate level rides of 28 or 50 miles go to the east side of I-35.
San Marcos/Seguin--Inactive
Meet at the NE corner of IH-35 and Hwy 123 in San Marcos for rides of 32, 49 and 58 miles. The routes cover quiet rolling country roads and are a nice change of pace from the more frequently used ACA rides around Austin.
Taylor—(inactive; replaced by Barely Hare)
Meet in Taylor at the bank parking lot at Third and Porter (one block NE of the light at Hwy 79 and Main). Rides are beginner to intermediate level of 27, 42 or 50 miles through flat to slightly rolling farmlands. Some routes circle Granger Lake. The landscapes out there are raw, stunning, and serene. You should really stop afterwards and have some good Taylor barbeque.
Town & Country (Round Rock)—(map not found; see Round Rock routes)
Meet across the street from Garden Ridge Pottery (formerly the Town and Country Mall), NW intersection of IH-35 and Hwy 1325, for 30 and 55 mile rides through rolling hills. The terrain is just right for beginners and veteran riders will enjoy the chance to hammer through some rollers.
Urban Hillbilly—(Central) (replaced by Thigh and Low)
Meet at the Echelon Building on Jollyville Rd, very near the intersection of Mesa Drive and Jollyville Rd, immediately south of Loop 360 and Hwy 183. The intermediate/advanced rides of 25, 32 and 50 miles follow Loop 360 and the mountainous environs of western Austin. Beginners can set their own distances on Loop 360. These rides are for hillbillies! Traffic can be moderate to heavy.
Walberg/Salado—(inactive; replaced by Walberg Waltz)
Meet at north end of Walberg cemetery (away from entrance). Take IH-35 north to Exit 268 (CR 972). Go right on 972 and left on CR 1105 to the cemetery on left. These rides of 24, 33 and 50 miles are Buzz Harris originals and are quite rewarding, albeit probably windy as heck. Afterwards, go into Walberg for Weinerschnitzel at the best German restaurant within 200 miles.
Wall Street--(inactive; replaced by Sprinkle Sprint)
Meet in the parking lot at the NE corner of Wall St and Cross Park Dr in NE Austin. Take Cameron Rd. north off Hwy 183, and turn right on Cross Park Dr. The second left is Wall Street. The 25- and 50-mile routes cover rolling farmland. These rides leave from very close in and put you and your bike in rural countryside before you know it.
