Location: Start at Yellow Bike Project, 2013 E. 51st St.; Destination: The Hundred Acre Wood

The Hundred Acre Wood is a new event space located 20 miles east of downtown Austin in Manor, Texas. On May 3rd they are hosting a Mixed Media Shower Arts and Crafts fair leading to a night of camping under a meteor shower. Note that there is very limited parking space at the YBP. Please plan to have you, your bike and luggage/camping gear dropped off by a friend or family member. Baggage transport will be provided at no cost by The Hundred Acre Wood folks.

established city bicycle routes. We'll start in North Austin and go through
Hyde Park, UT, the Capital grounds, Congress Avenue, Travis Heights, Barton
Springs, Zilker Park, Deep Eddy and Tarrytown, all at a leisurely pace. Start
at Pillow Elementary School, 3025 Crosscreek Dr. From Mopac/Loop 1 take the
Steck exit. Go east one block to Shoal Creek. Take a left (North) on Shoal
Creek Blvd. and Crosscreek Drive is the ONLY right turn on Shoal Creek Blvd.

Walking/Cycling Festival of Arts and Culture

For the second year, the Austin Bike Zoo, Theatre Action Project, and Yellow Bike Project are hosting a community celebration for all ages.
The fun begins at 3pm at the Carver Museum and Cultural Center with bicycle fun, youth bike rodeo, music, mask making workshops, face painting, performance, and carnival preparations.
At 4pm, the Mobile Carnival begins. Cruise the neighborhood, learning about local culture, art and history.
At 5pm, the celebration continues at the Historic Victory Grill with more bicycle fun, music, food. Come explore one of Austin's favorite historic venues.
The event features bicycle puppets by the Austin Bike Zoo, youth performance and workshops by the Theatre Action Project, youth bike rodeo and release by the Austin Yellow Bike Project, music by Buscando el Monte, new murals by Kealing youth artists and other musicians and performers!!

The Ride of Silence 2008
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Pfluger Bridge over Town Lake
On this day, bicycle riders all over the world will ride in honor of fellow
cyclists that have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.
Meet at Pfluger Bridge for an eight-mile ride. Organizers ask that you wear a
helmet, maintain silence, ride no faster than 12 mph, and obey stop signs and
traffic signals. Some riders will wear black armbands in memory of riders
killed, or red armbands if they themselves have been injured.
