Welcome to the Austin Cycling Assocation's
2006 edition the 12th Annual
Armadillo Hill Country Classic

Saturday • May 13, 2006 • 8:00 a.m.

Ride through broad valleys, over sweeping vistas, and gently rolling hills. The Armadillo Hill Country Classic is your chance to experience the best that Central Texas has to offer cyclists — at any experience level. Everybody (if you're among the first 1000 to pick up registration packets) gets one of our colorful Armadillo Classic T-shirts.

Featuring nearly every imaginable mileage option from 14 to 105 miles, and plenty of excellent rest stops with experienced, professional SAG support, the Armadillo Classic is your chance to set a new goal and achieve a new personal cycling milestone. New routing and more rest stop support on the 105 mile route.

Also noteworthy is the 6.5-mile Kids & Family Ride with a separate starting point in Bertram where kids ride free with a parent or guardian who only pays $15 to ride. Registration for this kid-friendly ride starts at 9 am at the Bertram Municipal Park on Vaughn St in Bertram (see map below) The Kids & Family Ride starts at 10 am.

Party after the ride. Something new we tried last year which turned out to be a great success was our after the ride party featuring live Austin musicians and spagetti dinner by one of our sponsors, Fazoli's Restaurant. We've got the same rockin' bands as last year too. Here's the schedule.

  • The Hackles - 10 - 11:30
  • The Breeze - 11:45 - 1:15
  • The True Tones - 1:30 - 2:45
  • Rock Art Replicants - 3:00 - 4:30

One more thing. You'll be able to use the showers at the high school gym. So bring your soap and towel, your family, and be prepared to spend a great day in Liberty hill.

The Armadillo Hill Country Classic will commence rain or shine. No refunds or rain checks.
